So we've been having some bad luck lately. Last Saturday, Carlie stayed the night with my sister Liz so Jacelyn wanted to stay with Rick's mom. We didn't really have anything to do so we rented a few movies (Push and Knowing). Here's the setting: Rick is on the love seat, I'm on the couch, the dogs are playing underneath the coffee table that is right in front of the love seat. Our coffee table is wooden with 3 glass pieces on the top. Gage (our boxer) tried to either stand up or sit up under the table and popped one of the pieces out. It flew up and then came crashing down on the corner of the table. It shattered all over Rick's feet. He had two puncture wounds on one foot and then it actually cut between his pinkie toe and the toe next to it. He also had a puncture wound on the other foot. He was bleeding pretty badly. I rushed over and gave him a paper towel to soak up the blood and picked up a few pieces of glass. The movie only had about 10 more minutes left so we just sat there, as still as possible, to finish the movie. As soon as it was over, we started cleaning up the mess when Rick cut his finger! THEN he started having an asthma attack! He hadn't gotten his inhaler refilled so we had to rush over to my sister Blair's house to borrow hers.
Now on to yesterday...Rick was mowing the yard and came running inside because he burnt his wrist on the dang thing!!! It was really bad and had already started bubbling up! I doctored him and he went back to his duty. About 30 minutes later, I hear this really loud noise coming from the washing machine. It sounded like a monster was in it, banging around, with the top coming up and down and all. I yelled at Rick to come in and he discovered that the agitator cover had come off. We couldn't get it to drain the water so I had to pull out all of the clothes and ring them all out. It took two separate small loads in the dryer at two cycles each to get all of the clothes dried. Lowe's didn't have whatever part Rick thinks he needs so we are still without a washer. I just hope it is fixable because I don't want to have to buy another one!!! They say things happen in 3's so hopefully this is the end of our bad luck!

The girls and Keenan
The girls finally got to meet and hold my newest nephew, Keenan a few days ago. Keenan is the one that was in the hospital for several weeks right after birth. I'm happy to report that he is doing great and that he loves his "Aunt Ya Ya" (Me, lol). He is now about 12 weeks old. I got to hold and love on him and he fell asleep in my arms. Nothing better than holding a sleeping baby. BTW, Jacelyn was REALLY jealous and wanted to be in my lap the whole time.
Keenan being cranky baby.

Several posts in one and some Pictures!!!
These are the geese that live in the pond in our neighborhood. We started Spring out with about 20-30 adults. Two of them (I thnk) laid eggs and now there are about 50-75 depending on the day. We watched the babies from just being eggs, to looking like their parents in just a few short months. It was a really neat experience. Sometimes they're annoying, like when I'm in a hurry and they're crossing the road. For the most part, we love them and are so happy to share our neighborhood with them.
This is Carlie getting her "Most Curious" award on the second to last day of school.
Jacelyn decided that she needed a hair cut after watching Carlie get a trim. She took it upon herself while I was working our yardsale (and daddy was "watching her"). This is the after. Before, her bangs were the same length as the rest of her hair.
This is most of the hair that she cut off. It was A LOT and it just kept coming out in clumps.
Carlie making a funny face at the firework show Saturday night.
We also have another new member of the family. He is an almost 6 month old Boxer puppy. His name is Gage and he's such a great dog! We are so glad that we found him. He is so good with Cooper and the girls. He thinks that he's a small lap dog and not a 35lb beast! He was born on Carlie's birthday and we got him for Rick's fathers day present a few weeks early. Here he is sleeping with Cooper.
One where he's awake.
He curled himself in a ball on Coopers bed. The brown part of the bed isn't supposed to be laid on. It's the rim off the bed. The cream color is the actual bed part! I was laughing so hard when I walked in and saw him like this! I guess he got embarrassed so he hid his face! hehe.
Here is Carlie being goofy at dinner one night! (Excuse the messy face and hands, it was Chick Fil A)
Carlie and Gage "Sleeping". She had him covered up with a blanket and his head was on a pillow. He was actually asleep but opened his eyes when I took the pic, Carlie was faking.
Sorry these are off. I got a laptop and I'm not sure how to move pictures after they post. This is Jaceln at the firework show last Saturday. She was hot and grumpy and didn't want her pic taken. BTW, this is the dress that she was wearing when she said "Black is NOT my color!".
Can't forget a picture of Cooper!

My crappy (literally) weekend
This is going to be REALLY long! Sorry!
I had a very busy, stressful weekend. Saturday, we got up at 7am to hit up the yard sales. My sister, Liz, who is pregnant with twin girls wanted to hunt for baby girl stuff. The girls and I tagged along just in case we found something we wanted. We went to 10-15 sales and didn't get done until 11 ish. I didn't find anything but Liz found one sale that the people had twin girls. They had TONS of Baby Gap, Ralph Lauren, and Old Navy matching girls outfits! They were so adorable and in perfect condition. She also found a portable swing that she can keep for them in her vehicle or at Memaws house.
We had lunch, and then went to the mall (which is about 40 minutes away). The girls were fighting the whole time, cranky, and didn't feel like shopping. Carlie was being negative about everything. She hated any shirt or pants that I picked up for her to get her opinion about. Jacelyn didn't want to stay in her stroller. They whined and cried for ice cream, candy, gumballs, drinks, and pretty much anything they saw that they wanted and knew I wouldn't let them have because of their behavior. I ended up finding quite a few things on sale at GAP for the girls. We stopped by Rick's work on the way back to get my fold up chairs out of my trunk (he had my car) and then to Sonic to get root beer floats. Jacelyn flung ice cream ALL OVER the seats in my sisters truck and all over herself.
We FINALLY got back home in time to rest for a few minutes before heading to the lake for the firework show. We picked up dinner on our way to the lake. We got there, walked 1700 miles from where we had to park to where we were sitting. Then Jacelyn lets me and everyone else out there know that she has to pee. We walk the mile to the bathroom. She decides she doesn't need to go because the toilets are silver and metal (she has a weird phobia of toilets that are any color except white or beige). She says that she doesn't have to go anymore. I was frustrated that we had just walked that whole way for no reason so I storm out of the bathroom with her and twist my ankle on the way. Of course I do, that's not surprising considering how my day had been so far. We go and sit back down and Carlie starts whining about wanting to swim in the lake. I wasn't thinking clearly and dressed the girls in brand new dresses to go watch the fireworks. Not thinking that there would be sand and water there also. So I let the girls walk in the shallow end of the lake. I'm watching from the side because it hurt my newly twisted ankle to walk on the sand. I let them play for about 20 minutes and then I'm ready to go back and sit down. I called to them about 5 times and they completely ignored me. There were TONS of people watching all around me. I could tell that they were waiting to see what I would do next. Was I going to let them keep ignoring me or was I going to march out there and grab them up? I decided to march out there and grab them out of the water. On our way back to our chairs, there was a HUGE mud puddle just a few feet from the edge of the lake. Carlie tried stepping in it and I asked her not to. What does she do? Walks right through it. It was like quicksand and her feet got stuck. Her flip flops were lost under all of the water and mud. I was MAAAAAADDD at this point. I kicked my sandals off and went diving trying to find her flip flops. I found one, threw it to her, and kept digging for the second one. Then I hear her say "What are you doing mom?" I glared at her and then I realized she was asking because she had both shoes on. I guess she had only lost one. As I'm starting to calm down a little, I realize that this "mud puddle" stinks. THAT'S BECAUSE IT'S SEWAGE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ewwwwwwww gross I know! I guess from the hundreds of people there, they had a sewage back up and it was draining into this puddle. I wanted to vomit! Now, I'm not 100% sure that's what it was, but it smelled and it was right at the foot of a really long ditch that had cement over it, like it was protecting pipes. I'm pretty sure that it was the sewage line from the bathrooms. All of those people that were watching me yell at my kids to get out of the water, were now watching me dig in waste. I bet they were cracking up. I grabbed my shoes and headed to our chairs. Oh, and did I mention the high for that day was about 100??? I was hot, and mad, and hot, and mad. Jacelyn then said she needed to try and potty again so Liz took her to the porta potties instead of the bathrooms. I told Carlie to go get back in the lake to rinse her feet and shoes off. Jacelyn still wouldn't potty, which frustrated me more because I knew if she didn't go soon, she would pee on herself. We had already been there an hour and a half. We ended up moving our chairs closer to the back of the crowd so we could make a quick exit when the show was over. It was also closer to the porta potty and to the orchestra that was playing, which was amazing BTW. After it was dark, before the firework show started, I walked Jacelyn to the fattest tree I could find where no one could see and had her squat down and pee. That child would pee on the ground behind a tree, but not in a bathroom because the toilet was silver and metal?? We sat back down and then she proceeded to tell me that she now has to poop! AAGG! I told her she would have to wait until we got home! Then the fireworks started. They were beautiful and amazing and exactly what I needed to take my mind off of the day. We got home around 11pm. We all took showers and went to bed.
Sunday, we cooked out at our house with my MIL and SIL. It would have been great except the fact that Rick didn't tell me that he invited them over until almost midnight Saturday night. My house was a wreck b/c I hadn't been home all weekend to clean it and I knew I wouldn't feel up to it the next day after the day I just had. It ended up not being that bad, until I stabbed my thumb with a steak knife and bled all over the place.

Jacelyn Funnies
Jacelyn was putting on a new black and white dress over the weekend. She twirled around and said "Black is NOT my color!"
Carlie came home from school singing a new rhyme with hand gestures that she learned (That I also used to sing in school). I'm sure you all know it. You put your hands together and then slap them side to side with another person. The rhyme goes (and I'm sure there are other variations) "I don't wanna go to Mexico no more more more. There's a big fat policeman at the door door door......" Well Jacelyn picked up on it, but changed a few words. Here is what she came up with "I don't wanna go to Texas any more more more, there's a fat girl at the door door door...." It was so funny to hear a little 3 year old singing that over and over all day long! lol.

Boobs
As I was getting ready for bed last night, this is what Carlie says to me:
Carlie: Women have long boobs like you. Men and kids have short boobs like me, see (and raises her shirt)
Thanks Carlie...I can honestly say that I've never been told that before.

Last Day of School
I have been gone for a LONG time but I've got so much stuff to blog about. Maybe I'll get time soon enough. Today is Carlie's last day of school. I can not believe that my baby is already ending her first year of school. She will be in 1st grade next year and will be going to a different school since we moved districts. I think she'll adapt pretty easily though. She has learned so much in just this one year of school that it's amazing. She has improved her behavior a little and has become such a little lady. She is so smart and I know that she is going to grow up and be very successful in life. She had her Kindergarten awards assembly yesterday and I was so happy that I got to go. She received the "Most Curious" award which fits her to a T. She is always asking questions and yearns to know everything about anything. I'm so proud of my little girl!
This summer she will be going to an amazing summer camp at Jacelyn's daycare. Each week they have a different topic. One week it is zoology and the zoo is bringing animals for them to learn about. Another week is acting where they get to act in a movie, learn how to produce, edit, and film. All of the parents will get a copy on DVD. They also have a cooking week where they get to learn how to cook and get a whole cooking kit to take home. I'm so excited for her to be able to enjoy this!
I was also just thinking, 2 years from this August, both of my girls will be in school!!! I don't really think I'm ready for this. They are growing up too fast!
