Carlie is at her granny's house for the night. We left the house around 9:30am for all day soccer fest and just got home around 6:45pm. After dinner, I told Jacelyn to move the kiddie table chairs from the living room to their table about 4-5 feet away. This is how the conversation went:
Me: Jacelyn, would you please put the chairs back at your table?
Jacelyn: But Carlie did it.
Me: Well Carlie isn't here and you sat in them this morning too so you need to put them up.
Jacelyn: But I might get lost!
Me: ***Laughing hysterically***

Is this sad???
I am usually a procrastinator. I put things off until the last minute for EVERYTHING. This year (like every other year) I vowed to be ahead of the game...but I'm serious this year. I already bought my mom a Christmas present. It is a personalized choo choo train ornament with the 4 grand kids names engraved on the smoke clouds, "Memaw & Papaw" engraved on the front of the train, and 2008 engraved on the caboose. It's very cute. I had to get one for our house but it's a little different. Mine just said Merry Christmas and then has 4 snowflakes above it with Rick, Lara, Carlie, and Jacelyn engraved on them. Then underneath it has "The ____'s". The best thing of all is that they were only $4.80 each and they got here in just a few days. I was so pleased. I also already ordered Carlie's Halloween costume. We bought Jacelyn's after Halloween last year when they were on clearance because I had already planned what they were going to be this year. I can't wait until Carlie's comes in to show ya'll! It's way too cute!

Amish Friendship Bread
I was handed a gallon sized bag of a bunch of cream colored goo and told that it was Amish Friendship Bread. Apparently, I am supposed to mash the bag for 4 days, then add sugar, flour, and milk. Mash for 3 more days. Then on the 10th day, I'm supposed to add a ton of ingredients and then pour a cup of this stuff into 4 other gallon sized baggies to hand out to friends to start the process all over again. I am supposed to pour the remaining goo into a loaf pan and make a bread with it. I think there will even be another "starter kit" leftover for me to keep going if I woudl like. This would mean I would have to make one every 10 days. I don't know if I could handle that responsibility. I don't think I've ever heard of doing this. I guess it's sort of like a chain letter, except with food. I did some research on it and found that it has absolutely nothing to do with Amish people BTW....I'll let ya'll know how it turns out NEXT Tuesday.
Edited to add a picture!!!

Mom and Me Meme
Thank you Christine for tagging me! I had absolutely nothing to write about!

3. What time do you start your day? I get up at 6am and then get the girls up around 7am. Jacelyn usually wakes up on her own while I'm getting ready.
7. Do you get a break during the day for some you time? I work outside of the home so I guess I get "Me" time here. On the weekends I occasionally get a nap in.
8. How do you end your day? After I get the girls in bed and asleep, I sit on the couch and watch whatever is on TV and eat a Weight Watchers dessert.
9. What is your best parenting advice or tip? Butt Paste is the best for diaper rashes, gas drops are GREAT, baby gowns are the best for night time changes, I'm with Christine..Pick your battles!, Don't argue with them, stick to your guns, and stay consistant!
First, post a picture of you and your kids.

It's that time of year again....FAIR TIME!!!
I love this part of the year...the crisp air, the fair, Halloween, Thanksgiving, My birthday, and then Christmas! It all happens within such a short period of time. I work better under stress so this is the best time to me! Our fair started Tuesday and lasts until Sunday (I think). I realized right before I got off of work that we would be way too busy to make it to the fair this weekend. We missed the county fair last year and only went to the state fair. I decided on a whim to take the girls as soon as we got home. When we got there, we walked through some of the craft barns, and then to the rides. Carlie rode the flying elephants and then Jacelyn wanted to ride a ride. We found one a little closer to the ground, little cars that just go in a circle, FAST. I thought Jacelyn would be scared because it jerked at first but she was so excited and enjoyed it so much! After the rides, we hit the animal barns. Jacelyn loved the baby cows and Carlie loved the bunny rabbits.

Carlie way up high.

I thought this one was really neat!

Parade day...
Tuesday was our county fair parade. I took off early so that I could take the girls. They had so much fun and LOVED the horses! Here is a picture to show how comfy they made themselves on the side of the street! hehe. (That's MIL beside Jacelyn, NOT ME)

Is Fall here??? Is it??? Really???
Ike came in on Saturday afternoon. Sirens went off and we "played" and had an "adventure" in our bathtub for a few minutes. Luckily the only damage around here were a few trees down and tons of limbs and branches scattered about. I was told that the wind and rain Saturday night was comparable to what it looks like where the newscasters in the middle of a hurricane are. I slept right through it! Yesterday when I walked outside to get into my car, it was COLD! I even wore a long sleeved shirt to work. I love fall clothes and I think my girls look absolutely adorable in their new fall attire! I think the high for today is low to mid 70's! Today is the county fair parade and every year that I can remember, has been a scorcher on parade day! Today, we can wear jeans and a light weight long sleeved shirt and be comfortable! Fall is my favorite season of all and I hope this weather is here to stay for a while! It makes me so happy!

First Soccer Game!!!
My nephew, Blake, has been playing soccer for a few years. Carlie has really seemed interested in it so I signed her up this season. Her first practice was last Monday and lets just say she didn't know what she was doing. After her practice, I went over the details and the point of soccer. Her first game was Saturday and she scored the only goal on her team!!! I was so proud of her! I also made her a cute little bow to match her uniform!!! I am a bad mommy and forgot my camera. If you can't tell, this is about 4 hours before we got hit by Ike. My sisters phone was our only way to save these memories!
Carlie and Blake
Carlie looking at another game being played instead of listening to the coach. lol (You can see the hair bow I made her in this one)
Being told what play to use!
She makes this funny fake smile pose when she doesn't want her picture taken
School Days...
Carlie has now been a Kindergartner for 4 weeks. She is loving it so far. She was really bored at first because she already knows most of what they are learning. They are now getting in the rhythm of things and doing more activities that she didn't do in pre-K. She has had a note or two sent home about her lack of listening skills and her talkative personality. I take her non stop talking and question asking as a sign of a child craving knowledge and just practicing her people and social skills. I'm not so sure her teacher agrees with me. It has taken me forever to get on here and post about her first day. Here are a few pictures from her first day....BTW, yes, that is a Hannah Montana shirt. It's the ONLY shirt she picked out for herself when we went clothes shopping and it's the only shirt she wanted to wear for her first day.
On the first day, the school had a red carpet laid out with these giant silver stars along the side. There was a woman in a gown and a man in a tux to greet the children. The principal was at the end of the carpet all decked out and giving each child a hug and a well wish for the first day. I thought that was so sweet and special. Carlie asked where the carpet was the next day. I guess she thought they did that every day.
