He ended up staying overnight "for observation" last night. The doctor hasn't come back by this morning so they're not sure if they get to go home today. Every time they take him off of the IV fluids, he gets lethargic within about 10 minutes. For some reason, he keeps getting dehydrated even though his body should be full of fluids! He is just really, really weak. They came in to draw blood this morning. As of yesterday, his white blood cells are in a normal range so no infection. The X-Ray showed that his appendix looked fine. He hasn't had a bowel movement in 5 or 6 days but then at 3am yesterday morning, he had major blow out diarrhea. My other sisters son had this same exact thing happen about a year ago. They thought he had food poisoning because he was throwing up and his belly hurt. He hadn't gone #2 in quite a while. They ended up at the hospital with everything showing up fine. Kept them overnight just to be safe. The doctor came in the next morning and said they were doing emergency surgery because his bowels were abscessed. When they opened him up, they realized that his appendix had ruptured but sealed itself off. Some of the toxins had been released into his body and he had a major obstruction in his bowels. Another thing that I was thinking is that another sister (I have 3) keeps Jacelyn, Trae, and two other kids during the day and the other 3 children aren't sick at all. If this was a viral infection, wouldn't you think the other kids would already have it? He's been sick for 4 1/2 days!
My Nanny is going to have a biopsy done on Tuesday to just rule cancer out.
Thank ya'll so much for keeping my family in your prayers. It seems like there is always something going on huh?
